The Cross River State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations has said that hosting the Cross River State Library logo competition will promote development and provide an outlet for the state’s energetic and talented youths to showcase their skills.
This initiative is carried through a third party sponsorship. This sponsorship is consistent with a key aspect of its Corporate Responsibility and sustainable Strategy which focuses on youth empowerment, aligns with the focus of the current administration in the state, empowering the youths to channel their energy positively.
Speaking about the development, the Ministry’s Commissioner, Honorable Oden Ewa, said the core focus of the competition is to provide an enabling avenue for young Cross Riverians to showcase their artistry, exchange ideas, as well as help the people to discover and enhance their potentials for human capital development.

According to the organizers, the first winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of N5 Million Naira, while the first runner-up will receive N3 Million, and N2 Million Naira for the second runner-up. These prizes aim to motivate and reward creativity.
The talent hunt is open to indigenous creatives from all backgrounds who share a passion for artistry irrespective of race or background.
Commissioner Ewa added that participants can continue submitting their entries as the application portal will resume from 9:00am hours on March 28, 2025, and will shut down on Friday April 4th, 2025 by 9:00am to incorporate more participants.
He further revealed that the panel of judges comprises esteemed professionals from the university community, as well as public affairs analysts, ensuring a fair and balanced evaluation process. After a rigorous selection process, the top logo designers will be shortlisted and the winning design will be adopted as the new official logo of the Cross River State Library.
