Cristiano Ronaldo building a luxury mansion on Portuguese Riviera in preparation for retirement
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly building a new mansion on the Portuguese Riviera for when he retires with his family.
The Manchester United striker purchased the property worth 6.5 million pounds in 2021, making it the most expensive flat sold in Lisbon.
Ronaldo also spent 7m pounds on a large plot of land in Quinta da Marinha and work has began on the mansion according to Portuguese media outlet Correio da Manha.
“The land was fenced off recently and it was purchased by Ronaldo,” a source told magazine TV 7 Dias. “This is where he’s coming to live with his family when he finishes his career.
“Everyone round here knows it and of course we’re happy. Ronaldo is Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo is set to live in his mansion after his football career with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and their children.
The 37-year-old’s contract at United runs out at the end of the 2023 season, although he has the option to sign for another year should he want to.
With Portugal qualifying for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Ronaldo is set to play in his fifth FIFA World Cup later this year in November.
