The future of Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho is somewhat uncertain despite Chelsea’s obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Although it’s expected that Chelsea will continue with their purchase of Sancho for £25 million, there has been significant speculation of them pulling out of the deal, with no confirmation of their decision just yet.

Across his loan spell at Stamford Bridge, the winger’s grabbed two goals and seven assists in 30 matches, failing to show the Sancho that excelled with Borussia Dortmund.

As such, reports have emerged suggesting that Chelsea would prefer to pull out of the deal, triggering the £5 million penalty for doing so, than signing the former England international.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now weighed in on the issue, providing some clarity to the situation.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano commented: “My information on recent stories is that even if Chelsea decide to send Jadon Sancho back to Old Trafford, the plan is to not continue together. The priority for Sancho is to stay at Chelsea.

“In case Chelsea decide the opposite, it would take something absolutely crazy, completely driven by Ruben Amorim to change things for him to stay because management already decided to give up on him one year ago.”

As such, it’s clear that unless Amorim sees him as vital to his team, Sancho’s seven-minute appearance in the Community Shield, coming on for Marcus Rashford before the penalty shoot-out, was the last time he’d play for The Red Devils.
