Thaiger Uppercut 2024 proved to be an interesting finale considering that it’s the final Tekken World Tour event, aside from the Tekken World Tour 2024 Global Finals. Needless to say, competitors were given their peak Tekken 8 performances in hopes of securing themselves a strong starting point at the big event at the end of the year.
Patloars had already made a significant splash earlier at Thaiger Uppercut 2024 when he sent Arslan Ash to losers in a surprise upset. As Patloars continued advancing his way through the top 24 on the winners side of the bracket, he found himself in a difficult spot when he had to take on Ashes|TheJon who was using King.
This set ended up coming down to the last round of the last match. Indeed, both players had already taken a game and two rounds apiece against one another. Whoever clutched it out in this next round would continue their advance through the winners bracket.
Patloars ended up scoring the first hit, but it didn’t take long for TheJon to score a big juggle to take back the lead. As such, Patloars was now playing with a significant life deficit as well as a positional disadvantage as he was edging closing to a wall.
After teching a throw, Patloars then proceeded to continuously check TheJon until he regained the advantage in the match. This forced TheJon to activate his Heat Burst first, but Patloars was able to block in time.
Over and over again, the two players were unable to hold a lead over the other for a significant amount of time. This lasted until the very final moments in which both players were left with just a sliver of life remaining during a slow motion exchange to end it all.
