Dominic Perrottet expected to EXTEND indoor mask mandate and other hated restrictions across NSW as Covid cases don’t fall fast enough
Dominic Perrottet is expected to extend a raft of Covid restrictions including indoor mask mandates and rules in pubs and clubs.
Restrictions on mask wearing, singing and dancing in hospitality venues, entertainment facilities and major recreation facilities were due to be lifted on January 27.
Elective surgeries have also been paused and businesses capacity limits of one person per two square metres are in force.
But as the state’s Omicron outbreak continues to surge – with 20,148 new cases on Saturday – the measures are likely to stay.
It is expected the NSW Premier could announce the extension during a press conference at Lidcombe Public School, in western Sydney, at 10am on Sunday.

It is understood the Premier intends to maintain the rules as the government prepares to send children back to school.
More to come.
