COVID – 19: While Crossriverians slept, Gov Ayade spent the night at Calabar/Itu bridge. See photos

The Cross River State Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade had reportedly spent his night at the Calabar/Itu bridge, the boundary between Cross River State and Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking earlier that day at the launch of the “No mask, no movement” crusade, the Governor noted that Cross River State is indeed trapped in the center by States with confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.
One of such states that shares much in it’s economy with Cross River State is Akwa Ibom State.

After paying an unscheduled visit to the Cross River State Garment Factory by 12:06am where workers worked overnight to produce free face mask to Crossriverians, the Governor proceeded to the Calabar/Itu bridge where he kept vigil to ensure compliance with the border closure policy.

Cross River State remains a COVID – 19 free State though surrounded by infested state by the Nobel Coronavirus, the Governor says he will do everything within his power to keep Cross River clean from the virus.

As of today, Cross River State remains the only State in Nigeria and Africa with the face mask for all policy
