Entertainers in Cross River State have hailed the number one citizen of the state, Sir Ben Ayade for waging a good war against Corona Virus scourge currently ravaging the world.
The entertainers who spoke in different interviews after the 2nd Outing this month, lent their voice to the impact of the COVID 19 in the state and expressed joy that no single case is discovered in the state. In their separate statements, they commended the strict laws of the state Governor, especially the ‘No Mask, No Movement’ rule, which is helping the people stay safe.
Popular amongst the artistes are Young Bone, Upper X of Okpo Rekordz, Jerry Plain, Jtwice, Upper Deciple, Oshaino, Commy Tush, DJ Baff Up, Paapi Slo and MC Senator leading others to storm the street, taking the COVID 19 message to Ikot Ishi market, Mobil by mcc and Marian market and other strategic points in Calabar.
In conclusion, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment Industry, Effiom Trombone, who had earlier on Tuesday, April 9th led top entertainers in the state on a sensitization campaign, said the second outing on April 14th was motivated by his boss who has been on the forefront of the battle to protect the lives of Cross Riverians, entertainers inclusive, as such, there was a need to complement all the Governor was doing.
According to him ‘ Entertainers know how best to interpret the safety message to the people and it will stick better if it is weaved in a creative way’. As creative minds with huge fanbase, it became pertinent for us to lend a voice and reach out to the citizens to adhere to precautionary measures so as to stay safe’ , Effiom said.
He hinted that the Sensitization Campaign train will move to other parts of Cross River to spread the message of safety and hope, also reassuring the people of a bright future based on the ingenuity of their visionary leader.
