As efforts to curb the novel Coronavirus spread in Nigeria, the Cross River State Government under the proactive leadership of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade had issued a stay at home order ahead of the outbreak of the virus in the State.
According to the Governor, it was necessary to take this action which is in line with the fundamental objectives of Government which is to protect lives and properties.
The Governor also provided certain palliatives to aide those affected by this decision. One of such is the provision of food items to 44,000 homes across the state. Today, the State Response Team on COVID-19, went on to inspect the delivery of food items to the food bank, for onward distribution to over 44 thousand vulnerable persons on the poverty register by Cross River state Government.
According to the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Hon. Asu Okang, he said “more deliveries are expected, even as Governor Ayade postpones distribution of personal protection equipments to Tuesday April 7”.
