Residents of the area were sensitized, in their Local Dialect, on Covid-19, the various preventive measures and the ways the State Government is cushioning the virus’  impact through the “Stay at Home”, as well as ‘no mask, no movement’ orders, while assuring them that both federal and State Government’s palliatives will get to them soon.

Governor Ayade also used the opportunity to distribute the face mask produced by the Garment Factory and hand sentizers from the State Government to the various groups.

He appealed to the entire community to observe the social distancing and also wash their hands often,  use the hand sanitizer when necessary and adhere to other precautionary measures to forestall any of Covid-19 into Cross River State.

Responding the youth leader of the Ekang Community, Mr. James Ntui, said that the Community vigilante group will support  security agencies ensuring compliance with the State Government’s lock down order.
