Costa double saves Blues blushes as Chelsea draws Swansea 2-2 in EPL Matchweek 4

The in-form Spanish striker restores Conte’s Chelsea parity again as his late strike in the 81st minutes make for the share of points at the Liberty Stadium in Wales.

Conte’s men came into this game with a 100% record after winning the first 3-games of the English Premier League (EPL) campaign, but a stubborn Swansea side who have lost their last three games held onto the game as Chelsea now fall beneath Manchester City who now are king of the League.

Chelsea hits their attacking strides earlier in the game as usual and this paid off when Diego Costa side-footed strik gave them the lead in the first half after reaching for Oscar square pass.

Swansea City later turned the game on their head in the second half inside three second-half minutes when Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois brought Gylfi Sigurdsson down inside the penalty area and the Iceland midfielder converted the spot-kick himself, before Leroy Fer neatly robbed Gary Cahill of possession and put Francesco Guidolin’s side into the lead.

But Costa, whose afternoon was characterised by his trademark theatrics, heavy challenges and disputes with opponents, made sure the Londoners claimed a point.

But the question is still, whether Costa should have been sent off after a lame dive when challenged by Lukasz Fabianski having already been cautioned.

David Luiz’s return to Chelsea and his first game under new manager couldn’t change anything as the result ended Chelsea’s 100 per cent start to the season and denied them the opportunity to join Manchester City at the top of the table, while Swansea ended a run of two consecutive league defeats.
