Job Summary:

As a Cook at Homeland Foodie, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that align with our menu standards. You will be responsible for following recipes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring food quality, and assisting in the overall smooth operation of the kitchen. This position requires a candidate with strong culinary skills, a deep understanding of food safety standards, and a passion for creating delicious dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to the menu, following recipes and food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented according to Homeland Foodie’s standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and keeping workstations tidy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management about stock requirements to ensure ingredients are available.
  • Follow proper portion control procedures to ensure consistency and minimize waste.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations.
  • Work with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient preparation and delivery of food orders.
  • Stay updated on food trends and suggest new dishes or ideas to enhance the menu.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily kitchen targets and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) in a relevant field or related culinary certification.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a passion for cooking.
