Obaji Akpet, publicist of ex-MBGN queen, Isabella Ayuk |
Controversial suspended Cross River Most Beautiful Girl (CRMBG) queen, Victoria Ana, yesterday threatened Obaji Akpet, publicist of former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), Isabella Ayuk calling him “stupid” after alleging he has been publishing “nonsense” about her suspension as CRMBG queen.
It could be recalled that Ana and two other titled queens of CRMBG were swept in a recent wind of suspension over misconducts the Belle’Sabel Grooming Agency (BGA), organisers of the yearly state pageant said was capable of bring the image of the pageant to disrepute.
While the other suspended queens, Christy Anie and Favour Ezeh have quietly responded to queries issued them by BGA and are awaiting results, Ana went media viral with controversies writing derogatory open personal letters to former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), Isabella Agbor Ayuk and now decided to take on Akpet, who she believes as publicist of the ex-MBGN queen and CRMBG pageant carries out all the media outings against her.
In her personal letter Ana had claimed that all that was posited as reasons for her suspension lacked merit; but co-suspended queen, Anie recently took to media space to fault Ana’s claims urging her to accept her suspension while deploying other ways befitting of her as queen to resolve her issues with her management instead resorting to insolence.
Part of the embattled queen’s threats to Akpet as divulged to the media, states in part: “I will take you up Obaji, I will take you up. For that singular nonsense that you wrote, I will take you up.”
“You think you can write bah?”
“I will take you up, I will take you up; coz I wouldn’t take that nonsense from you or any of the CRMBG people.”
“You’re very stupid,” Ana dropped what she’s known for.
But Akpet in a swift response has described Ana as a wrong example of a beauty queen that is drowning and begging for cheap popularity.
According to Akpet: “Ana is just a wrong example of a beauty queen that is drowning and now attributing all her ordeal to every straw she finds to hold; and I will not give her a chance for the cheap popularity she seeks.”
“Imagine the queen that was handed over to me to publicize picking issues on almost everyone that is bold to advise her. Do you call such a person as befitting example for the public to follow?”
“When I first spoke with Ana on phone to know if she feels remorse about the allegations on her so I could intercede for her and prevail over her suspension, she told me categorically that the reason she contested for CRMBG was because she wanted a quick way to MBGN, and that if that ambition is ruined, she will not relent to fight the CRMBG pageant. And I think that’s what she’s currently doing” he added.
“I feel sorry for the things she finds painful to her, but that’s not the way to go about things. She’s only being suspended for crying out loud; and being a queen is not a do or die affair. Being overzealous is not the way. A girl who hates discipline should be feared for the havoc she is capable of causing.”
“It is time our girls started seeing pageantry as an impersonal platform to give back to society and not a battle ground for personal ambitions.”
