Community Manager
Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Support:
- Host two office hours/drop-in sessions weekly (one afternoon and one evening) to accommodate different time zones, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and clarify doubts.
- Host one weekend drop-in session monthly to offer additional support for participants who may not be available during the week.
- Plan and facilitate in-house general engagement events twice a month for participants, such as virtual networking meetups, skill-building workshops, or informal check-ins.
- Manage birthdays and other welfare updates by celebrating participant milestones, such as sending birthday messages and recognizing key life events in the community.
- Engage with alumni at least once a month, beyond the regular newsletter, to maintain ongoing relationships and foster continued community engagement.
- Serve as the point of contact for any community-related issues, resolving conflicts, answering questions, and providing ongoing support to mentors, mentees, and alumni through various channels.
Event & Session Planning:
- Plan and coordinate Virtual Mastery Sessions that are open to current participants, alumni, and the public. These sessions should feature industry experts and thought leaders, providing value to the entire community.
- Liaise with the communications team to ensure these sessions are promoted effectively across social media platforms.
- Ensure that participants and alumni actively engage in virtual mastery sessions by encouraging questions and fostering discussions during and after the events.
- Act as the central point of contact for all community-related activities, ensuring participants and alumni are kept updated on important events, program timelines, and key initiatives.
- Liaise with the communications team to produce a monthly newsletter for all stakeholders (current participants, alumni, mentors), highlighting relevant program activities, upcoming events, and participant success stories.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create and manage engaging social media content that represents the achievements and activities of program participants.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in community management, program monitoring, or a similar role, preferably in a mentorship, educational, or nonprofit setting.
- Experience with virtual event planning and managing diverse online communities.
- Experience working with tools like Google Classroom, Zoom, Slack, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills to handle both task monitoring and community-building efforts.
