Comcast RISE Supports King County Small Business Growth

Comcast has announced an ambitious initiative aimed at bolstering small businesses in King County, pledging to distribute over $3 million in grants through the Comcast RISE program. This effort aligns with Mayor Bruce Harrell’s recent commitment to fostering local business growth and success. The Comcast RISE program is designed to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs dedicated to enhancing their communities by providing them with comprehensive grant packages. These packages include a technology upgrade, creative production services, a media marketing schedule, educational resources, a monetary grant of $5,000, and business consulting assistance.

Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA) stands as a leading global media and technology company. With a diverse range of offerings, from connectivity and platforms to engaging content and experiences, Comcast serves hundreds of millions of customers, viewers, and guests worldwide.

A recent report from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce highlighted growing revenue concerns among small businesses, with inflation emerging as a significant challenge. The report revealed that 58% of small business owners now cite inflation as their primary worry, and over a third express concerns about revenue—marking the highest level of anxiety regarding this issue since 2021.

Eligible small businesses in King County can apply for the Comcast RISE program between May 1 and May 31 at www.ComcastRISE.com, with winners set to be announced in August. Throughout April and May, Comcast RISE will host free information sessions in collaboration with local community partner organizations, including the Bellevue Chamber, Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA), Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, and Tabor 100, to provide insights into the program and application process.

King County is one of five selected regions where 100 local businesses will receive grant packages, alongside Boston (MA), Grand Rapids (MI), Nashville (TN), and South Valley (UT). These new recipients will join a network of 14,000 entrepreneurs nationwide who have benefited from the Comcast RISE initiative since its inception in late 2020.

For more information, Xfinity customers can access the Comcast RISE destination on the X1 platform, where they can find news, tips, and insights by simply saying “Comcast RISE” into their X1 voice remote. This initiative is part of Project UP, Comcast’s extensive effort to foster digital opportunities and pave the way for a future filled with possibilities.
