The People’s Democratic Party’s presidential, and the gubernatorial candidates of the PDP in Cross River State has been assured of an overwhelming majority of eligible voters resident in and indigenous to the state come the 16th of February and 2nd of March 2019 general elections NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
The Coalition of All Support Groups in Cross River State, Wednesday, assured the presidential flagbearer of the PDP and the gubernatorial candidate of the already mentioned party in the state, Alh. Atiku Abubakar and Sen. Prof. Benedict Ayade respectively of at least five hundred thousand eligible Nigerian voters while targeting the specific number of a million votes.
The group made it known in Cross River capital city while she addressed pressmen and bloggers according to which it disclosed that this Coalition is an umbrella of two hundred support groups with thousands of members.
According to the Convener of the Coalition, Mr Michael Nku Abuo, the minimum of five hundred thousand voters will be mobilised for the general elections. He disclosed that the mammoth crowd present at the just concluded presidential rally in Calabar wasn't a rented crowd, but, their presence was a borne out of love for the governor and the governor's policies.
His words, 'The presidential rally that held on the 8th of February in Calabar was organic —nobody was buying anybody, there was no paying of anybody to attend the event, people came out of love and joy, most especially because of the industrialisation drive and total government inclusion drive of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and the believe in his policy trust.
'On behalf of the supports groups that are here, I want to assure Their Excellencies Alh. Atiku Abubakar and Ben Ayade that we have agreed unanimously that nothing less than 500,000 votes will be mobilised across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state; our target is a million voters.
'The strategy we have to ensure that this 500, 000 come out to vote is a secret to us. We can't disclose it to the press because of the.'
Another ranking member of the Coalition, Mr Solomon Inameti said they are passionate about their supports for Atiku and Ayade. They said they are selfless in their political support.
Concerning the three million Naira scandal associated with the last presidential visit of Atiku to the state, and reported to have been gulped by the organisers of the rally, Abuo said that the incident has been resolved while declining further comments.
