CNPP, Rep congratulate Odey for picking PDP ticket for Cross River North Senatorial poll

Twenty one opposition political parties in Cross River state under the aegies of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties( CNPP) and a member of House of Representatives, Hon.Legor Idagbo have congratulated Dr.Steve Odey on his victory in the just concluded PDP senatorial primary for Cross River North.

Odey Saturday defeated his closest rival, Hon.Agom Jarigbe  Agom Jarigbe with 450 votes.

In their separate congratulatory messages , the CNPP and Idagbo described Odey’s victory as a reflection of the peoples unwavering confidence in his ability to represent them in the Senate.

In a letter signed by Sunday Michael and Castro Ezema, State chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively and addressed to Odey, the CNPP said: “We congratulate you on your emergence as the Northern Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Cross River state.

“The decision of the delegates to elect you as the PDP candidate from among other distinguished aspirants is a testimony of how far and wide you consulted, further to this, choosing a Yala son in compliance with the directive of the CNPP to all political parties demonstrates the commitment of your party in bringing balance, equity, fairness and justice”

The umbrella body of opposition political parties further commended the delegates and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC monitoring team “for abiding by the rules”.

On his part, Hon.Idagbo said he was convinced  that Dr. Odey, a former Chairman of Cross River SUBEB will represent the people of the Northern Senatorial District effectively in the red chamber when elected.

The federal lawmaker who is Chairman House Committee on Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring, further stated that Odey’s emergence as candidate of the PDP  was a reflection of the will of the people through the delegates of the party in the northern Senatorial district.

While commending the PDP and governor Ben Ayade for a peaceful, transparent and successful exercise, Hon. Idagbo assured Odey of his constituents’ massive votes during the bye election.
