Technical Work Responsibilities
Guide and support professional nurses implementing NIMART
Offer advice on clinical problems
Facilitate Case Discussions
Ensure good outcomes for quality of Care Indicators, ART, TB/HIV Integration, PMTCT
Perform Clinical Audits
Develop Quality Improvement Plans
Facilitate Training where possible
Ensure adherence to Guidelines and Best Practice
Document Lessons Learnt for future improvement of Programme
Cooperate with Health Systems Mentor to ensure delivery of comprehensive and patient-friendly service
Keep up to date with developments in the field
Requirements
Education
Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Registration with South African Nursing Council
Extensive experience in HIV/AIDS treatment and care
NIMART, IMCI, QI, PMTCT and PULSA-PLUS/PC101 trained
Advantageous
Diploma in Clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment
Experience
At least 3 years’ experience as a NiMART Nurse
At least 1-year experience post Mentorship training
3 years General Practice experience or Specialist Area
5 years’ experience in working in a Primary Health Care setting
Extensive experience in HIV/AIDS and TB treatment and care
Experience in managing patients on ART
Updates in area(s) of Mentorship – Annual or 3 yearly as applicable
Advantageous
Quality Improvement training
Completed POEs for NiMART programme
Requirements
Valid Driver’s licence with Own car
SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
Basic computer skills
Advanced computer skills
Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required
Willing to work overtime
