CJN Ariwoola to Administer Oath to Daughter-in-Law and 11 Others as FCT High Court Judges

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, will administer the oath of office to 12 new judges of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, including his daughter-in-law, Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

This was disclosed in a statement by Festus Akande, Director of Press and Information at the Supreme Court, on Sunday.

The ceremony is set to commence at 10 am in the Main Courtroom of the Supreme Court.

In addition to Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria, the other appointees are:

1. Ademuyiwa Olakunle Oyeyipo (Kwara State)
2. Bamodu Odunayo Olutomi (Lagos State)
3. Iheabunike Anumaenwe Godwin (Imo State)
4. Odo Celestine Obinna (Enugu State)
5. Hauwa Lawal Gummi (Zamfara State)
6. Sarah Benjamin Inesu Avoh (Bayelsa State)
7. Maryam Iye Yusuf (Kogi State)
8. Buetnaan Mandy Bassi (Plateau State)
9. Lesley Nkesi Belema Wike (Rivers State)
10. Ibrahim Tanko Munirat (Bauchi State)
11. Abdulrahman Usman (Taraba State)

It will be recalled that on May 17, 2024, the National Judicial Council recommended a total of 86 judicial officers for appointment to federal and state courts nationwide. This recommendation followed deliberations during the NJC’s 105th plenary meeting on May 15 and 16, 2024, as disclosed in a statement by Soji Oye, Director of Information at the council.
