Christmas: Soludo’s wife distributes gift items to orphanage, abandoned children in Anambra

Wife of the Anambra State Governor and the Founder of Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo Initiative, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has distributed various gift items to thousands of orphanage and abandoned children to celebrate the 2025 Christmas.

The distribution/pre-christmas party celebration took place at the Light House Banquet hall Awka, on Monday.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Mrs Soludo said that the gesture was intended to put smiles on the faces of the less privilege children in the spirit of Christmas.

She said Christmas was a period to generate happiness and spread love, especially to motherless children and less-privileged people, who need assistance.

The children came from various orphanage homes and cut across tribe, ethic and religion placement.

“For me, Christmas means reaching out to the needy, less privileged, motherless and abandoned children.They need our care and special expression of love to partake in the celebrations.

“I am very happy spending this good time with this children. I am also very impressed with how the caregivers are taking good care of the children in their various caregiving homes.

“I urged well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and groups to reach out to the needy and make this year”s 2025 Christmas celebration special for them,” the first lady added.

Early in her remarks, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon Ify Obinabo, expressed appreciation to the governor’s wife, saying that the gesture would go a long way in putting smiles on the faces of the children.

Some of the gift distributed were cash gifts, clothes, toiletries and beverages.
