Christmas In Calabar: Arts-crafts And Cultural Village To Run For 32 Days

As part of the activities to keep the holiday spirit blazing in the “People’s Paradise”, this Christmas, the Calabar Arts-Crafts & Cultural Village, will run for 32 days at the premises of the Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar.

Promising premium cultural glitz and glamour, the Village will open today, 1st December 2021, by 4pm running through to the 1st of January, 2022.

The recently renovated melting pot of cultural experience will feature back-to-back events such as Cultural Displays, Sunday Live Band Performances, Musical Fiesta, Traditional Wrestling, Poetry/Floating Karaoke, Family and Friends Fun Night, NKUKUKWAK/AKAM, Still Band Performance.

Also to thrill fun seekers include the Festival of Feathers, Arts and Crafts Exhibitions, Cultural Santa Claus Love evening, Reggae/Old School Classic Day, Free WiFi, Lottery, Awards & Recognition night.

According to the Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Mr Eric Iso Anderson, the icing on the cake at the Village will be the 4ft by 60ft painting on canvas titled “The Journey Through Cross River” which will have the representation of the events, places and personalities from the Bakassi all the way to Obanlikwu, showcasing our rich heritage.

Regarding the Christmas Village at Calabar Municipal Council, the Commissioner added that it promises to be a month of multiple doses of excitement with entertainment segments and serious economic activities happening there.

Mr Anderson assured that the event schedule regarding other State events will be out in the coming days.

It should be noted that the “No Mask, No Entry” policy in line with the COVID-19 guidelines will be strictly enforced at the venue.
