I think it’s safe to say that nobody was able to predict Capcom Cup X’s results from earlier this year. UMA327 and his Juri was able to take the first place prize of $1,000,000 while Yesports|Chris Wong, the second place finalist, won $300,000.
Many spectators were probably placing their bets on players like Rohto|Tokido and Ibushigin|Kakeru taking the whole thing before the Capcom Tour season had concluded. However, both players actually found themselves being unable to qualify for Capcom Cup X. They even tried to qualify via the Last Chance Qualifier, though that ultimately went to Mouz|Problem X instead.
Regardless, it makes us wonder how Chris Wong would fare against the likes of Tokido and Kakeru. Fortunately, The FGC Place recently uploaded gameplay footage featuring Chris Wong’s Luke going up against Tokido’s Ken and Kakeru’s JP.
At the time of the recordings, Kakeru was ranked as the #1 JP on the Master Rate leaderboard for Street Fighter 6. Tokido has also proven to be no slouch as he was ranked as the #2 Ken by the time of the video of his match against Chris Wong was uploaded.
Other videos have also been uploaded that feature Chris Wong going up against John Takeuchi, the #2 ranked Jamie, and LeShar, the #1 ranked Chun-Li. Needless to say, there are some really exciting matches here.
