In an effort to completely eliminate and control of all forms of communicable disease in the state, the Health Commissioner, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has paid a visit to the Eja Memorial Hospital Itigidi to see patients who have been on medical supervision after the Cholera outbreak in Abi Local Government Area of the state.
Dr Ekpenyong who said the visit was aimed at monitoring the progress of patients, their present condition with strict compliance with medical directives to expedite their recovery, promised the patients best of medical care all through their stay in the facility.
Dr Ekpenyong who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Cross River State Ministry of Health, Dr (Mrs) Pauline Obute, said all patients brought to the facility have regained high fluid retention rate, developed better verbalized feelings, strength and were well monitored by team of medical experts working in the hospital.

She promised that hospitals in Cross River State will continue to be a rescue point and safe haven for all patients while also admonishing Cross Riverians to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene to prevent disease outbreak.
