Over the last few days, the future of Jadon Sancho and where he’ll play for the rest of this season has been completely up in the air.
It’s been known for sometime that Manchester United have wanted to part ways with the winger. Sancho was exiled to Borussia Dortmund last January after a very public falling out with Eric ten Hag.
From that moment, it seemed obvious that Old Trafford would not be his home next season.
Throughout the summer, Sancho’s attracted interest from top tier clubs, with PSG being the front runners for some time.
However, the French champions ultimately pulled out, leaving the door open for Chelsea to enter the race and battle it out with Juventus.
Last night, reports came in the Juve were pulling out of their loan move for the winger. The decision comes after their academy graduate Samuel Mbangula has been delivering truly impressive performances at the start of this season. The Old Lady don’t want to risk the signing of Sancho negatively affecting Mbangula.
This leaves Chelsea firmly in the driving seat, with Fabrizio Romano now confirming that the deal is done and Sancho is moving to Stamford Bridge.
It’s reported that the agreement is for a loan deal with obligation to buy clause agreed between the clubs. It’s understood from Sami Mokbel of Daily Mail that the buy clause is less than £40 million.
Sancho had already agreed personal terms with the London-based club, allowing for Romano’s famous “here we go” with an agreement from all parties.
