We recently caught notice of the impressive work of Cheesu_Cosplay. As her Instagram username suggests, Cheesu_Cosplay is a cosplayer that has pulled off cosplays of some of our favorite fighting game females.
One of the fighters that Cheesu_Cosplay has portrayed includes Dragon Ball’s Android 21. While the character made her debut appearance as Dragon Ball FighterZ’s original character, Android 21, or rather the “human template” behind Android 21, now has a canon role in the overall plot of Dragon Ball thanks to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
During Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, it’s revealed that Android 21’s human template had the name “Vomi,” which is believed to be a pun on “vomit.” It was also noted that Vomi had died long before Dr. Gero and the events of the Android Saga/Cell Saga of Dragon Ball Z.
Unlike the other androids created by Dr. Gero, it appears that Android 21’s model uses cells from Majin Buu. One really has to wonder how Dr. Gero managed to get ahold of Buu’s cells considering how he was sealed away.
Unfortunately, this has created a hunger within Android 21 that constantly pushes her to consume energy by transforming powerful enemies into confectionaries. As seemingly demonstrated in the Dragon Ball FighterZ story mode, once Android 21’s eyes turn red, it became too late to save her.
Although Android 21 is said to be in her “true form” when she looks like a female Majin Buu, the Lab Coat Android 21 version of the character has historically been the better character throughout Dragon Ball FighterZ’s competitive meta. Canonically, however, the true form of Android 21 is supposed to be the stronger form.
By looking closely, it can be observed that Cheesu_Cosplay has red eyes during her Android 21 cosplay. This means that this is after Android 21 has been consumed by her own hunger.
Disappointingly, Android 21 with her “good eyes” can only be used during the Dragon Ball FighterZ story mode.
Cheesu_Cosplay has also portrayed Zero Suit Samus from the Metroid series. Once again, Power Suit Samus is supposed to be the stronger version of Samus, but Zero Suit Samus has typically been more relevant in the competitive metagames for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
By looking closely, it’s possible to notice that Cheesu_Cosplay is wearing the Jet Boots, something that’s so far only appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series starting with Super Smash Bros. 4. While the Jet boots are simply decent as a recovery tool, the Jet Boots’ real power comes from its ability to KO opponents off the top after long juggles.
Cheesu_Cosplay has also portrayed Zero Suit Samus while in a precarious position. She’s obviously taken some battle damage (as indicated by the rips and tears in her Zero Suit), and she’s covered in a green slime.
For better or worse, we haven’t really seen Samus in this type of position in any of the Metroid games, so this is certainly a unique look for Samus. Check it out below:
