Celtic have managed to successfully retain the Scottish Premier League trophy for a third year in a row, managing to hold of Rangers by 3 points to secure the trophy, whilst also winning the Scottish Cup at the same time.
Hoping to retain the title for a fourth year, Brendan Rodgers’ side are going to have to dip into the transfer market this summer in order to strengthen the squad, with one area of focus being a need for a new goalkeeper.
Ex-Premier League Champion Joe Hart has been the shot stopper at the club securing the titles since he joined from Spurs in 2021. However, with the English goalkeeper retiring at the end of the season, Celtic have big shoes to fill to have the same level of reassurance between the sticks.
As such, Sport Witness have announced that Celtic are eying up Manchester United’s Altay Bayindir as a potential replacement.
The 26-year-old joined United from Fenerbahce last summer for €5 million, Bayindir has lacked game time, only representing the Red Devils once in the FA Cup Fourth Round vs Newport County where United secured a 4-2 victory.
With Erik Ten Hag favouring Andre Onana, the Turkish international is struggling to find what he wanted at United so is reported to be preparing to leave Old Trafford, with Celtic planning to offer a four-year deal to the goalkeeper.
