Covington Electric Cooperative (CEC) has been deeply committed to community involvement since its incorporation in 1944.
The co-op regularly supports charitable efforts, organizations, agencies, and schools with one primary goal in mind: To enhance the quality of life for its members, their families, and the community at large.
CEC recently contributed $3,000 to help support the Covington County Child Advocacy Center’s (CCCAC) annual fundraiser – Cowboys for Kids Rodeo. Proceeds from the event scheduled for Oct. 18-19, at the Covington Center Arena in Andalusia will help support CCCAC’s mission to provide a child-friendly place where child abuse victims in Covington County can find recovery and healing.
“This vital service helps children who are experiencing heartbreaking circumstances such as abuse, neglect and maltreatment,” CEC CEO and President Mark Parker said. “It’s extremely unfortunate that these services are needed, but it’s a blessing to know it’s available locally for victims of child abuse.”
