Cammy has proven herself to be one of the most popular characters in the Street Fighter series. Among the fighters introduced in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers (Cammy, Dee Jay, T. Hawk, and Fei Long) back in September 1993, she’s the only one that’s been part of the base roster for all of Street Fighter 4 (as an unlockable fighter), Street Fighter 5, and Street Fighter 6.






As such, it’s no wonder that she’s become a popular character that cosplayers like to emulate. One such cosplayer is Captain Naru.









When it comes to depicting Cammy as she appeared in the green thong leotard, Captain Naru has depicted Cammy specifically as she appears throughout iterations of Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4. This is actually a slightly different take compared to how Cammy appears in Street Fighter 5.


In Super Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4, camouflaged paint can be seen plastered on both of Cammy’s legs. On the other hand, Cammy in Street Fighter 5 instead replaces this camouflage paint with a harness and gun holster, which happens to be key parts of one of Cammy’s earlier drafts during the development of Super Street Fighter 2.


Some of the common points of these two versions of Cammy are the green thong leotard, red beret, red socks, black combat boots, braided pigtails, and the Delta Red insignia. Needless to say, all of these elements of Cammy’s appearance made it into Captain Naru’s depiction of Cammy White.

Of course, Captain Naru has also taken it upon herself to cosplay as Cammy as she appears in Street Fighter 6. Like many other returning veterans in Street Fighter 6, Cammy’s look has been completely reworked in Capcom’s latest fighting game.


It would appear that Cammy has finally retired the thong leotard from her wardrobe. Supposedly, Cammy donned the thong leotard due to the optimal speed, mobility, and flexibility it allows her, but she still appears to be a speedy rush down archetype in Street Fighter 6 all the same.


Cammy is now wearing a dark blue sports bra, black yoga pants, a light blue denim jacket with the United Kingdom flag plastered on the back, and a Delta Red choker. This appears to be a better undercover outfit for Cammy as she likely attracts less attention while wearing it.


Though there are plenty of fans of Cammy’s classic design, her reworked appearance ended up being a real hit with the fanbase. In particular, one her taunts that has her stretching her back has become a recognizable meme within the fighting game community.
