Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection coming to the Xbox One in 2025

Last week, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was announced for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Just like with the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was skipping Microsoft consoles.

However, it’s now being reported directly from Capcom that the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will now be released for the Xbox One. This is great news for Microsoft fans.

We’re excited to announce that after technical discussions with our partners at Microsoft, we can confirm that MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will release on Xbox One!” said Capcom on Twitter.

Of course, it should be noted that Microsoft fans will have to wait a little bit longer than those that plan to get the collection for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or PC. This likely means that development of the upcoming collection is just being planned for the Xbox One.

“The Xbox One version will be out in 2025, so please stay tuned for more information!” continued Capcom with their surprise announcement.

Like the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One is a console from the last generation. Fortunately, games from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are backwards compatible with their respective successors — the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

Regardless, it is important to note that the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will not support crossplay, at least by the time it releases. So it will be important to choose which version of the collection to get.
