It’s almost finally that time of year again where the second Street Fighter 6 world champion is crowned, but there’s a stressful game of chance that needs to be played out first.
The Capcom Cup 11 Group Draw Event is taking place tonight, February 13, starting at 6 p.m. to determine how the brackets will shake out in the quest for the $1 million prize.
There are 48 players still in the running from all around the world, and each of them will need to be placed in a group to know who they’ll be fighting in the first stage, which can also decide ways the tournament will ultimately play out.
Each group will be comprised of 6 players for a total of 8 sections.
The top 2 of each move on to form a final top 16 bracket after completing a round robin first to 2 format to determine their group standings.
It seems there’s always at least one “death group” where multiple frontrunners end up together, but that’s bound to happen almost any way you look at it with 48 of the best SF6 players in the world all in one pool.
In the game itself, Capcom is running a Street Voter event to pick your favorite to win Capcom Cup, which you can also vote on in our own polls for it too.
Streaming will be handled by Capcom Fighters, which you can watch along with here, and we’ll be updating the groups as they are announced.
