Capcom has hit the internet today with a very interesting announcement. From the looks of it, a single new color is being added to Street Fighter 6 as a special limited time offer and it is only available via Twitch.
The company announced a new initiative called the “Support a Streamer” program for Twitch streamers that encourages fans to, well, support a streamer. If you participate in this program, you can earn yourself a spiffy new color for Cammy’s Outfit 2.
“Street Fighter 6 is pleased to announce its Support a Streamer program for Twitch streamers!” Capcom wrote about the new initiative.
“From 9 am PT on September 2 to 11:59 PM PT on September 30, Twitch viewers will receive an exclusive purple themed Cammy color for her Outfit 2 for gifting or buying 1 Twitch subscription (Prime Subs are excluded) of any tier to any streamers within the Street Fighter 6 category,” Capcom continued.
As far as what you need up front in order to access this color after unlocking it, you’ll need a copy of Street Fighter 6 (obviously) and you’ll have to own Cammy’s Outfit 2. It’s worth noting that this color can only be unlocked one time per Capcom ID, so this means that even if you play on multiple platforms with the same ID, you’ll only be able to unlock this special color for one of them.
The types of subs you can use to get yourself this color include new monthly subs of any tier, multi-month subs (3 and 6 months), and gift subs of any tier and any duration. Any other types of subs you aim to use will not earn you the Cammy color, so make sure that you’re going for the proper sub types when trying to get ahold of this special palette.
What makes this new Cammy color particularly interesting is that this appears to be the third special color we’ve seen in the game that is exclusive and gained through specific means.
The first we saw was for Juri’s default costume that was obtained by voting for UMA to win Capcom Cup X in the Street Voter event. According to Capcom, fewer than 300 people predicted this outcome making this extra color very rare.
The second time an EX01 color came into play was for Akuma’s default. This one was tied to the SiRN Akuma challenge that took place when Akuma was first released back in May.
What’s also special about Cammy’s EX01 color is that this is the first special palette we’re seeing for an alternate costume. A new color is being added to Cammy’s Outfit 2 here, while both Juri and Akuma’s color EX01 was for their default.
