Fans of the fledgling MultiVersus competitive scene have been wondering how the meta would shape up and hold up at the highest level, and we got our best look at what’s going on at the top this past weekend.
Warner Bros. concluded the MultiVersus Fall Showdown Finals for North America and Europe where there was a surprising amount of character representation from the events’ finalists.
Between the 2v2 format and 3 brackets between the regions, the combined top 8 usage for the tournaments gives us 48 players to look at along with who they’re maining and which of the crossover cast are more likely to be kept in the pocket.
There wasn’t exactly a runaway favorite among the top competitors considering Arya, Wonder Woman, Velma and Stripe were all primarily used by 5 players and Iron Giant, Morty and Jake were mained by 4 — although that doesn’t mean there still wasn’t technically a number 1.
It appears the buffs to make Arya’s air and teleport combos more consistent have made her the de facto strongest Assassin class character in MultiVersus right now with 4 more players pulling her out as a secondary pick.
Overall, 14 of the game’s 19 available characters received main representation at the events, and 11 of them were even repeat picks.
That means only LeBron, Steven, Gizmo and Rick were left completely on the sidelines for top 8, which seems pretty darn good overall.
Sure, the strongest characters seem pretty apparent from these results, but there was little consistency in which ended up actually winning only Reindog being a main repeat.
