Fulham FC manager, Marco Silva has praised Nigeria’s Calvin Bassey for his performance in the 5-0 spanking of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Bassey was named in the left-side of defence by Marco Silva and the former Ajax man flourished to the admiration of his manager.
On Wednesday night at Craven Cottage, Bassey’s International teammate, Alex Iwobi scored twice as Fulham reached five-star against Forest team that fielded another Nigerian International, Ola Aina in defence.
Bassey has been a key player for the Cottagers since his summer addition from the Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax Amsterdam, playing mostly as a center-back.
The Super Eagle put up a superb display against Nottingham Forest on the left-side of defence like he used to during his days at Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers, nullifying all the opposition attacking threat as Fulham kept a clean sheet.
” Bassey played on the left-hand side, which is usually Tim’s role, and it was nice to see him perform as well, ” Marco Silva said after the game.
That victory took up to 12th spot in the English Premier League, their next game a London derby vs West Ham FC who will also arrive in high confidence after defeating Spurs 1-2 on Monday night.
