In reaction to a social media thread made by social commentator Ifere Paul early this week inquiring into what should be done to the alleged apprehended criminals and suspected abductors bedeviling the state capital, the legislator representing Biase State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), Rootman Ogbor, has said they should be reformed. This was how he reacted 'Reform him'. It was a very short remark.
Though he didn't expatiate on which method of reformation, the popular way of reforming criminals is the Reformatory or Penitentiary, what we commonly refer to as prisons/police cells in this part of the world. Is Ogbor suggesting the apprehended criminal(s) be remanded in prison after the requisite court proceedings or should the church, mosque be contacted to 'reform' them?
Between church and state which institution best suit the reformation of these set of citizens?
