The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not certified Remo Stars’ stadium for the Second Round of the continental championship.
A CAF inspection team recently visited the stadium and confirmed that it can host games for the First Round of CAF competitions. However, if Remo Stars advance to the Second Round, they will need to find another stadium, either within or outside Nigeria.
A member of the CAF delegation explained to BSNSports, “Remo Stars’ stadium can host the First Round of CAF competitions, but for the Second Round, the team will need to use a different stadium. The pitch is acceptable, though not top-notch. The issue is with the structure around the stadium, which does not meet FIFA and CAF standards.”

This situation mirrors a previous case where Rivers United was allowed to host their CAF Champions League First Round match at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium but had to move subsequent games to Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Remo Stars are set to host AS FAR in the First Round of the CAF Champions League on August 18, 2024, at their home stadium.
Also, El-Kanemi Warriors will use the Remo Stadium in Ikenne for their CAF Confederation Cup matches.
