Job Purpose:
To accomplish business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans, finding and retaining clients, encouraging extant clients to purchase added products or features, and remaining abreast of changes in trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update and implement the organization’s marketing strategy in line with its corporate strategy and key business objectives.
- Formulate and implement an annual marketing plan, promotional/sponsorship initiatives and budget.
- Achieve marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities.
- Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, product and services, or new ways of reaching existing markets.
- Continually improve knowledge of the company’s products and services, and follow the changes in industry to develop new products.
- Prospect for new opportunities and identifies new profitable customers for new and existing products.
- Achieve sales daily, weekly, monthly and yearly targets consistently.
- Identify networking opportunities, sales conferences and events that would positively impact the bottom line.
- Develop proposals for customers.
- Carry out external presentations to potential customers and perform customer demonstrations.
- Follow up on business opportunities with new and existing customers; and close deals.
- Oversee contract negotiations and payment terms with customers.
- Ensure that agreements with customers/sales opportunities are executed effectively. Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to grow the reputation of the company.
- Serve as the point of contact person for addressing customer concerns and inquiries.
- Maintain ownership of designated client accounts and ensure optimum customer satisfaction at all times.
- Conduct regular check-ins with customers to understand their specific needs or concerns, and relaying that information to the wider team for resolution.
- Advocate for the needs of customers in all company deliberations
- Consistently update customers of all company products and offerings.
- Identify opportunities to align the company’s products with clients’ needs.
- Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation, to generate leads and maintain a healthy pipeline.
- Protect organisation’s value by keeping information confidential where necessary.
- Review client feedback and implement necessary changes.
- Equip staff with the technical and social skills needed to enhance sales.
- Lead in the development and execution of negotiation strategies within the business including specific targets for pricing, service, quality, performance and compliance.
- Promote a strong team culture. Product Management
- Effectively manage all Company’s and agency accounts.
- Liaise with product teams to ensure that Company and agency operational channels are performing optimally.
- Acquire and onboard new clients to the Company’s and agency product lines.
- Monitor all issues arising from the operation of company and agency, and ensure timely resolution.
Requried Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or any related discipline
- MBA or a Master’ in related discipline is an added advantage
- Up to five (5) years related experience in Sales; with modest management experience
- Relevant experience in Corporate Sales and/or engagement with High Net Worth Individuals (HNI) will be an advantage
- Experience in generating revenue by identifying pain points and suggesting suitable products
