The Position of the Bursar
- The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day financial administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
- The candidate shall subscribe and be a believer in the vision, mission and core values of the University and will work toward the realisation of its objectives.
- He/she shall live an exemplary God-fearing ife and comportment worthy of emulation by staff and students.
- The Bursar is a Principal Officer of the University and, from time to time, provides expert advice on issues relating to investments, revenue generation, and disbursement of funds.
- The Bursar will oversee all finance, accounting, reporting and internal control procedures, forecasting, budgeting, treasury, resource mobilisation, fundraising, sponsorship, grants, subventions, endorsement drive, revenue generation activities, tax and insurance functions of the University.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- A minimum of Second Class (Honours) Lower Division in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration from a recognised university.
- Membership and Fellowship of a recognised professional accounting body such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN
- At least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification experience, ten (10) years of which should be post-professional experience, including a minimum of four (4) years as a Deputy Burser in a university setting
- Demonstrated finance and fund management capabilities to ensure effective resource utilisation and financial sustainability
- A higher degree and certified working knowledge of IFRS will be considered added advantages.
- Must be under 60 years of age at the time of assumption of office.
Specifically, the candidate is expected to be a person with:
- Outstanding leadership qualities who can inspire and motivate subordinates to achieve corporate goals.
- God-fearing, high integrity and moral standard. Someone who appreciates and acts on merit. A clear vision for the development of the University and readiness to implement the vision.
- Excellent interpersonal relations
- Focused and innovative, with a track record of leading change
- Excelent physical and mental health.
- A high level of computer literacy, that is, proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages and accounting software.

Terms and Conditions of Service
- The appointment shall be for a single term of five years.
- Redeemer’s University pays an enhanced remuneration package applicable to the post of Bursar in Nigerian Federal Universities.
