Bulldogs take care of Charles Henderson, 9-6

The Andalusia Bulldogs traveled to Charles Henderson High School Thursday and brought home a 9-6 victory over the Trojans.
CHHS got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first, but Andalusia responded in the top of the second.
Landen Butler got things going by reaching on an error and that was followed by a walk to Will Dalton. Kielan Davis then doubled to left field, bringing Butler in to tie the game, 1-1. Three walks and two fielder’s choice balls helped Andalusia to score three runs to take a 4-1 edge.
Charles Henderson responded with a single run in the bottom of the second, making the score 4-2.
Andalusia started its half of the third with Butler being hit by a pitch. Dalton followed with a single. Once again, Davis came through with his second double in as many innings, scoring Butler. Dalton later scored on a wild pitch and Davis came home on an error to lift the Bulldogs to a 7-2 lead.
The Trojans scored two in the bottom of the third on two singles and an error as the score stood at 7-4.
Andalusia put another run on the board in the top of the fifth with Conner Ray hitting an RBI single, scoring Dalton for an 8-4 lead.
Andalusia’s final run came in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Dalton that scored Asher Bentley.
Charles Henderson brought in a single run in the bottom of the sixth to complete the scoring with Andalusia on top 9-6.
Davis led the team with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. Dalton had one hit with an RBI and scored three runs. Bentley had a double and scored a run.
In addition to his two doubles, Davis also earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs, pitching a complete game, giving up eight hits while striking out two batters.
With the win, the Bulldogs stood at 11-8-1 on the season. After hosting Charles Henderson on Friday, they will travel to Flomaton on Monday, April 14, with start time scheduled for 5 p.m.
