Pastor Joseph I. Okoro, the General Overseer of Bible Christian Crusaders Mission (BCCM), a trending Christian denomination in Calabar, Cross River State, while addressing his congregants yesterday Sunday 5 June, declared that the economy of the country would face more woes in the days to come. Accordingly, he was clearly directed by God, according to him, to invite his congregation into cutting, what he referred to as, Covenant of Preservation, Sustenance & Advancement by which they will be shielded from the negative impact of the economic downturn anticipated to further characterise the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The man of God who read from the Holy Writ of Christians specifically from the Book of Genesis in the twenty-sixth chapter, from verses one through six, and twelve through twenty-two in a message titled: Covenant of Preservation, Sustenance & Preservation, categorically stated that divinity was punishing the sovereign state of Nigeria for choosing a wrong leader in the person of Muhammadu Buhari.
However, he noted that will send miraculous help and Christians will prosper in the midst of economic woes. In his exact words, 'God is going to punish this country for not choosing the right leader but he will not make a full end'. 'In these tough times ahead, God will send help from unexpected sources… In these troublous times, you will sow and God will give you mighty returns', he continued.
The religious leader directed his congregants to do three specific things for the covenant to find proper footing in their lives, namely,
1. You must receive clearcut direction from God as to where you must be located.
2. You must place a demand on those God has designated for your preservation.
3. You must sow in the land.
Pastor Okoro ended his message by praying for the preservation, sustenance and advancement of his congregants.
