Bucks will lose sleep over Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton injuries vs Chicago Bulls

Without taking anything away from DeMar DeRozan’s impressive 41-point performance with the Chicago Bulls, the Milwaukee Bucks also suffered in other areas. Mainly the loss of two key players such as Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton are one of the main concerns for coach Mike Budenholzer. Before the first half, Portis suffered a knock on his right eye that got him out of the rest of the game.

That was already a major handicap for a Bucks team that couldn’t get Giannis out of a tight defensive team up from the Bulls. It was already complicated for Milwaukee, who initially seemed like they could sweep the Bulls in the series. But things turned around for Chicago during this game and DeRozan took them to a very important victory on Wednesday.

Even if it’s sometimes hard to accept, health wins titles and missing players due to injuries in the same game can be a massive blow. Apparently, Portis was having vision problems in his right eye and the doctors simply couldn’t fix it. However, they are expecting him to return to the next game without a problem given that his injury wasn’t that serious.

But losing Bobby for the entire second half wasn’t as painful as what happened to Khris Middleton during clutch time. It was a nasty sight to see but these injuries can happen, especially during Playoff games when all players are playing at the top of their capacity.

Middleton suffers an MCL sprain.

It happened with still more than 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter, so the Bucks would’ve had a chance to win if this hadn’t occurred. In a turn while he was trying to score a basket, Middleton slipped and painfully twisted his knee. After the game, Mike Budenholzer confirmed that Middleton suffered an MCL sprain.

Those can be very serious, even the least dangerous one. Grade I will get a player out of activity between 1 and 2 weeks. A grade II sprain is 3 to 6 weeks and grade III would put Middleton out of for the rest of the Playoffs and the season. The player is getting an MRI scan tomorrow but the initial report is not very hopeful.
