Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, has earned the Premier League Player of the Month award for March, marking his first win in five years.
This is the fifth time Fernandes has secured the prestigious honour, with his previous victories coming in 2020.
Despite his consistent performances, he had not won the accolade since his remarkable arrival at United.
March proved to be a stellar month for Fernandes, as he contributed directly to four goals in United’s unbeaten Premier League run.
He was instrumental in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, scoring a well-placed free-kick, and added to his tally with a goal against Leicester.
The highlight of the Leicester match came when he also provided two assists, showing his versatility and vision in attack.
In achieving this milestone, Bruno Fernandes joins the ranks of United legends Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, both of whom also won the award five times.

The record for the most Player of the Month awards is held by Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, and Mohamed Salah, who have all won seven times.
Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo have each won the accolade six times.
The award places Fernandes among some of the best players in Premier League history, as his performances continue to shine for United.
He faced strong competition for the award, with Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Nottingham Forest duo Anthony Elanga and Nikola Milenkovic, and others all nominated.
However, Fernandes’ standout contributions saw him come out on top.
With the Premier League season heating up, Fernandes’ recent performances could be crucial as Manchester United look to push for the Europa League and secure Champions League football for next season.
His form is certainly a major boost for Ruben Amorim’s squad, as they aim to build on their solid foundation.
In addition to Fernandes’ success, Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo claimed the Manager of the Month award for March, ahead of Amorim, who continues to make his mark at United.
