Street Fighter 6’s latest DLC character, A.K.I., has been a bit of an enigma for competitive players. I think it’s safe to say that everyone can agree she is a highly technical fighter, but just how good (or bad) she actually is remains a point of discussion.
Some players believe A.K.I. is the worst character in the game or close to it, while others have her higher up in mid-tier. Content creator and skilled player Broski has been playing her since she released, and today he worked out a match up chart for her on his live stream that will hopefully help the community get a better understanding of how she does on the tier list.
Broski organizes his match up chart into five different categories. We start with A.K.I. having advantage, then go down to slight advantage, then even, slight disadvantage, and disadvantage.
One interesting thing to note up front is that Broski doesn’t feel that A.K.I. is bottom one and there’s a solid reason for it. He says that A.K.I. can actually fight against Ken and Luke fairly decently, and with her being able to manage two of the best characters in the game, it means she’s not fully out of luck on the tier list.
That said, let’s get into the rankings he has set. For starters, Broski does not feel that A.K.I. is fully advantageous in any match up.
The first placement we see on this match up chart falls into the slight advantage category, and the only character who populates it is Jamie. Broski explains that Jamie is only a real threat to A.K.I. when he is able to stock three or four drinks, and that is too large of a hurdle to overcome consistently.
One of A.K.I.’s stronger qualities, according to Broski, is that she has quite a few 5-5 match ups. On this chart we see eight different characters in this category, including Ken and Luke, and he explains that if a character has a lot of even match ups and can do decently well against some of the strongest characters, then it’s likely that they’re not bottom tier.
