Broski hates tier lists, but he nonetheless promised his ever-increasing clan of Twitch and YouTube followers that he’d order the cast of Street Fighter 6 if and when certain subscriber mile marker was hit.
We’d like to congratulate Broski on his recent surge in Twitch subscribers, and are excited to share the resulting tier list with you now. His approach differs a tad from lists created on TierMaker, but it actually makes for an even more directed and nuanced discussion of character strength.
Broski uses the vertical Y-axis to measure overall strength, but he uses the horizontal X-axis to measure character consistency. This particular distinction appears to be especially helpful when it comes to discerning between some of the more hotly-debated top tiers.
For example, there are a lot of differing opinions about Zangief right now. He’s definitely better than he was back in Season 1, but while some players feel like he’s only reached somewhere around the middle of the pack, others (including many top level pros) argue he’s one of if not the best in the game.
Broski acknowledges Gief’s potential to dole out damage from both strikes and grabs, and instantly places him very high up on the Y-axis. However, Broski also points out that Zangief has relatively weak defense, which means he can be overwhelmed more often than characters with invincible reversal options.
This means the Russian wrestler can be on par with characters like Ken and Cammy in terms of character strength, but we can also see that he’s lacking in consistency as he’s placed somewhat low on the X-axis. This may or may not feel like an appropriate placement to you, but you can at least appreciate the increased specificity thanks to the two-pronged approach.
