Manchester United kicked off their Premier League campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham, thanks to Joshua Zirkzee’s debut goal, which proved to be the decisive moment of the match.
While United secured their first three points, another team made a strong statement over the weekend – Brighton & Hove Albion. Under the guidance of their new manager, Hurzeler, the Seagulls stormed to a convincing 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

As both teams prepare to face off at the Amex Stadium, the upcoming clash is poised to be a significant test for Erik ten Hag‘s side.
However, Brighton will also approach the fixture with caution, despite their recent dominance over United.
The Seagulls have emerged victorious in four of their last five Premier League encounters against the Red Devils, but Hurzeler is far from overconfident about his team’s chances.
The 31-year-old Brighton manager dismissed any assumptions that his side would enter the match as favorites.
Instead, he urged his players to remain vigilant, particularly in dealing with Manchester United’s attacking prowess.

“And so the strengths from this team is they have like an individual quality on the pitch where you never can lose your attention on the game,” Hurzeler said in a press conference on Thursday, as reported by BeanymanSports.
“Because they can decide a game in one situation, even if they’re not really in the game.
“They have the quality of [Bruno] Fernandes with [Marcus] Rashford, [Amad] Diallo, [Alejandro] Garnacho, [Mason] Mount – there’s one situation, they can kill the game.”
One player who has particularly caught the eye is Garnacho. The young forward has made an impact early in the season, contributing to two goals in his first two appearances off the bench.
Fernandes, despite missing two crucial opportunities against Fulham, has also looked sharp at the start of the campaign, adding another layer of danger to United’s attack.
Hurzeler emphasized the importance of maintaining focus throughout the match, stressing that his players cannot afford to switch off at any moment.

He pointed out that United’s ability to capitalize on transition moments could prove decisive if his team is not fully prepared.
“They have to pay attention, like, really… 90 minutes, you have to be focused all the time on the game, especially on transition moments,” Hurzeler explained.
“When we are in possession [we need to make sure that] we have a good positioning, a good distance to each other in the case for the stopping their transition moments, and I think this will be key.”
As the teams gear up for what promises to be an intense battle at the Amex, both sides will be looking to build on their opening weekend successes.
While Brighton may have the edge in recent head-to-head encounters, Hurzeler’s cautious approach underscores the respect he has for Manchester United’s ability to turn a game on its head in an instant.
