Information reaching Negroid Haven News desk, from a reliable source, suggest very strongly that the immediate past governor of Cross River State, HE Senator Liyel Imoke is under trail by the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of culpability in financial crimes while in office as governor of Cross River State.
It was also garnered that the former governor is said to have gone to court to get an injunction that would bar any formal investigation against him. This legal document with suit number LO/ADR/124/15(Imoke Vs Okoi Obono-Obla) was filled by his legal team comprising Kemi Pinheiro(SAN), Folu Oguntade, Adewale Kamoru, and Chukwudi Enebri.
Barr. Okoi Obono-Obla, a staunch APC stalwart in Cross River and who is allegedly spearheading the anti-graft crusade against Imoke is said to have already been served with the summons as at Wed 3 June 2015.
For the records, it should be recalled that Mr Donald Duke, the former governor if the state(1999-2007) left Cross River a debt of N80 billion, but Liyel Imoke raised the stakes to N400 billion, with nothing to show for it!
