Angry motorist in Calabar, Cross River State shut down a major road that leads to and fro the State’s capital in demand for the complete vacation from the road currently harbored by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) operational mobile court, The Warden online gathered.

Recall that the Government of Cross River State had banned the activities of mobile court within the State’s capital, thereby relocating these activities to Odukpani road.

Motorist who claim that the FRSC have been extorting the sum of N2,000 daily from each vehicle, were no longer comfortable with these arrangements that have yielded nothing but amounting to outright infringement on their rights where failure to pay results to barbaric sanctions by these corrupt floating judges.

It is also worthy of note that the spot mounted by the FRSC for mobile court activities is completely ridden and near total dilapidation but even as glaring as the guru scene appears, no one ever murmured for fear of being arraigned in a court you can’t defend yourself.

However, according to the leaders of the protest, they were ready to damn consequences and fight for their rights while calling on the State Government for a speedy intervention.

Inside sources revealed that what triggered the protest is as a result of series of accidents where vehicles have been reported to have capsized on several occasions into the ravine created as a result of erosion which was left unattended to.

As at the time of filing in this report, the crowd remained adamant at their request and where unattended to.
