Manchester United are stepping up their activity in the transfer window, with a massive push to solve the issues faced in their defensive line up.
Following news that United have agreed personal terms with Matthijs de Ligt, the Red Devils are making a strong pursuit of LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro.
Early this summer, LOSC Lille president confirmed that two of the French club’s first team players would be available to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer with the pair of Yoro and Jonathan David entering the final year of their contracts with no sight of renewal.
Both men have been linked to United, with David being enquired about to bring in another striker to take the pressure off of Rasmus Hojlund, with the Lille striker expressing his desire to play in the Premier League.
However, United’s most recent dealings with LOSC Lille are firmly focused on Yoro, with news emerging of an official bid for the 18-year-old.
United are reported by French journalist Nabil Djellit to have submitted a €50 million bid for the France defender, which has been considered as a more ‘superior’ offer than that of front runners Real Madrid.
LOSC Lille have officially accepted the offer, meaning that the Red Devils’ attention will now turn to the man himself to discuss personal terms.
Despite the accepted offer, Yoro’s preferred option is still reportedly Madrid.
So this doesn’t look to be an easily done deal with the talks that are now set to take place between United and Yoro’s representatives having to be extremely beneficial for the centre-back in order to try and convince the player of an English Premier League move this summer.
Yoro has also long been linked with Liverpool, but it seems as if the Merseyside club have fallen behind both United and Madrid in the race to sign the wonderkid.
