BREAKING: IGP Withdraws Invitation To Emir Sanusi

BREAKING: IGP Withdraws Invitation To Emir Sanusi

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has withdrawn the invitation he extended to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.

The IGP however, directed the Kano State Police command to obtain the Emir’s statement in the state regarding the incident.

IGP Egbetokun gave the new directive through the Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The police chief said the withdrawal became imperative following the intervention of some stakeholders in the country.

Recall that the IGP had earlier extended an invitation to Emir Sanusi following the violence that characterised the monarch’s Sallah outing in Kano, in which one person was killed and another injured.

The initial invitation to the monarch was for him to report at the Force CID, Abuja this week over the incident.
