Reliable information reaching our news desk suggests very strongly that academic staff under the aegis of Academic Staff Union (ASU) in College of Education Akamkpa, Cross River are currently protesting in view of pressing demands for the appointment of a qualified Provost for the College NegroidHaven can report authoritatively.
According to a circular that NegroidHaven stumbled on, the peaceful demonstration is to 'drive home Union's demands for appointment of a qualified Provost in accordance with acceptable Guidelines.'
As I write, the leadership of the Union are stationed at the Administrative Block of the educational institution.
More details to come later. However, the rate at which labour unions are protesting in the state is alarming. This development may speak so much for a 'labour-friendly governor'.
