Information reaching negroidhaven news desk has it that seven (7) Biafra brothers have been charged with the murder of 3 policemen .
The accused are presently been remanded in prison custody due to the verdict pronounced by a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State capital, condemning the act by the pro biafran agitators.
The accused are charged with the murder of ASP Genesis Akagha, Sgt. Itoro Thompson and Cpl. Biosu Onyeka of the state police command.
Laying credence to the Sun news online, the incident occurred in Asaba precisely on the 30th of May,2016 during a demonstration by the duo of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).
Interestingly, the occasion collaborated with the anniversary of the declaration of Biafra by the late Chukuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu in 1967.
Other count charges levelled against the accused persons include cultism, conspiracy, illicit possession of arms etc
Such offences have been deemed punishable in the Court's Criminal Code of conduct, under various sections as : Cap C.21 Vol.1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006 and the Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism/Terrorism Cap C.28 Law No. 8 of Delta State of Nigeria, 2013.
Their plea bargain was rejected by F.I. Dikeh, the presiding Jury who sternly ordered that they should be remanded in prison custody as a motion for adjournment was latter moved to the 11th of July for revisiting the matter.
