Famous and all time football legend and 2-time world cup winner, has cancelled his trip to Lagos, Nigerian and African largest commercial city this August due to some health issues. The organizers of the visit, Winihin Jemide Series and the Youth Experience Days Africa had planned to bring Pele to Nigeria for the Legend Edition on August 11-12. but, however, a statement from the organizers said that
another date will be announced once the legend has fully recovered from the ailment that also kept him from attending the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in his home country last weekend.

However, the Winihin Jemide Series & Youth Experience Days Africa have both chosen to postpone the 2016 WJS/YEDA LEGEND EDITION with Pele due to reports of his ill health on Friday 5th, 2016. The statement reads; “We are sorry that we have to disappoint the many Pele fans and Legend Edition supporters at this time, who were looking forward to this event. As we pray for his speedy and full recovery, we believe that it would be inconsiderate for us to put his health at risk.

The organizers of the event also promised to refund purchased tickets and also to set another date for the event as they pray for Pele’s quick recovery. They also promised to announce the date next weekend and hoped the new date will be suitable for all.
